Shirine Neshat is The artist that influences me the most. I am fascinated by the way she combines type and photography. I am lucky to understand what she writes about in her artwork, indeed they are poems from Hafez, one of the most famous poet in persian literature. What influences me most of all, is the story, the message behind her artwork. In fact she talks about her country Iran, after the Revolution, the changes, the way she felt when going back after 10 years of exile and also the womens situation. Like her, I use a lot the color black, which reminds me of the color of my country, the veiled women, but also reminds me of elegance. A lot of my work has to do with my culture, like Shirine Neshat.
